Following on in Joshua, we hear how he built an alter from unfinished stones as was written in the book of the law of Moses. Malcolm uses the analogy of a modern brick wall to show how each brick is separated from the rest by a bed of mortar. A rough stone wall is strong because it relies on the contact with its fellow stones. If we surround ourselves with our Christian brothers and sisters, we can become strong when we are part of something bigger!
